A Journey through Suspense: My Recent Read

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm back with another exciting blog post, and I'm actually writing this during my train journey. The atmosphere outside is quite captivating – not too rainy, just cloudy, with a refreshing cold wind. I couldn't have asked for a better setting to get inspired and write a new blog post! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

This time, I want to share my thoughts on a recent book I just finished reading. And guess what? I completed it right before I started writing this blog post. The book left such an impression on me that I couldn't wait to pen down my thoughts✍

So, without further ado, let's dive into the book I've been raving about. The book is "I Am Papa" by Pranav Bhattacharya.

Now, from the title, you might expect a story about fatherhood and the often unacknowledged sacrifices that come with it. But surprise, surprise – it's not what you think! "I Am Papa" is actually a suspenseful tale centered around a father's search for his missing son. Intrigued? If you're curious about more details, I'll share some insights in the spoiler Alert below.

My Take: If you're a fan of suspenseful stories, "I Am Papa" is a definite must-read. It's a hidden gem that somehow hadn't made it to my reading list until now. But fear not, I'm here to make sure you don't miss out like I did! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I highly recommend giving this book a shot. And for those of you connected to IITGN, you'll be pleased to know that it's available in the library.

Interestingly, I found myself drawing a parallel between "I Am Papa" and the popular show "Money Heist," simply because the main character in the book is referred to as the 'Professor' – just like in the show. Now, don't expect the exact same thrills you'd get from the Money Heist Professor; after all, this is a book, not a TV series. But the story's unique twists and genuine feel make it a captivating read.

Before we delve a bit more into the story, let me say this: the narrative is engrossing from start to finish. There's no dull moment; each chapter drives the plot forward, leaving you eagerly anticipating what's next. This book had me hooked to the point that I finished it in under a week – and believe me, that's a record for me!

Spoiler Alert: The story follows a father whose retirement takes an unexpected turn when his younger son goes missing, leaving behind a cryptic note. This sets the stage for a thrilling narrative as the father embarks on a quest to unravel the truth. His son, it turns out, has joined an enigmatic organization called "Peace in Capsule," led by a figure known as the Guru. The organization promises an escape from mere existence and a path to truly living life.

As the father relentlessly searches for his son, the story takes us through a roller-coaster ride. The younger son's involvement with the Guru's organization adds layers of complexity. The Professor's efforts to rescue his son from the clutches of the Guru form the heart of the narrative.

If you haven't read the book, the next two paragraphs might not make much sense. I recommend skipping them for now and circling back once you've completed the book.

Now, I couldn't help but feel that there were a few loose ends that could have been tied up. For instance, Karina, an important character, has her story left partially unresolved. Additionally, what transpired after the Professor successfully rescued his son and returned to India remains untold. Considering the Guru's global influence, it's hard to believe life would be all smooth sailing for the Professor back in India. The author doesn't dwell on these aspects, but that doesn't detract from the overall experience.

Furthermore, the mother's emotions, having waited for her son's return, are left somewhat unexplored. Equally intriguing would have been exploring Jatin's reactions – the elder son, responsible and considerate, who was kept in the dark about his father's daring plan. How did he appreciate the effort his father made? These are questions I was left pondering.

In Conclusion: "I Am Papa" left me wanting more – not because it was lacking, but because its intricacies and characters were so engaging. Pranav Bhattacharya has crafted a tale that lingers in your mind, urging you to imagine what happens beyond the final pages.

Lastly, I'm eager to receive your suggestions for a comparable novel. Feel free to drop a comment below with suggestions for other books by Pranav Bhattacharya or any other suspense novels that you've enjoyed.
